Hello and welcome to the 2018-2019 school year in Preschool II! We are very excited to be kicking off the school year with our play date and BBQ this Wednesday, September 5th at 4:00pm. Please take a look below for some important information regarding our daily schedule. We will be sending home a more detailed letter the first week of school in your child’s take home folder, which the school will provide.
Backpacks – It is very important for your child to bring a backpack or bag to school every day. I will also be sending home a Take-Home Folder in your child’s backpack every day.
Water Bottles – Please send a water bottle labeled with your child’s name to school each day. Ideally, water bottles will have a covered mouthpiece, as they will all be kept in one basket in the classroom. Your child’s water bottle will be sent home each night to be cleaned and refilled and must be returned the next day.
Changes of Clothing – Please make sure that you send in a change of clothing on your child’s first day of school. The change of clothing should be a school uniform including pants, shirt, socks, and at least two pairs of extra underwear. Please put your child’s clothing in a large ziplock bag labeled with his/her name. The clothing will be kept in your child’s cubby. As the seasons change, please be sure to send in a set of clothing that is appropriate for the weather. Also, please send in a new outfit if your child brings home soiled clothing.
Nap/Rest Time – Your child will have a nap or rest time daily for one and a half hours. Your child will be provided with a cot at the school. Please send in a fitted sheet for your child’s cot (a crib sheet or twin sheet fits great). Each child may also bring in one blanket and one small stuffed animal if they would like. Please be advised that the items children bring to school for nap must stay in their cubbies until the last day of their school week and cannot be sent home on a nightly basis.
Art – Please send in a smock labeled with your child’s name for art activities as soon as possible. The smock will be kept in your child’s cubby for the duration of the school year. An adult-size button-down shirt or oversized t-shirt works well.
Students will be engaging in the following weekly specials: art, music, PE Tumbles, and acting.
