Happy October! It is so hard to believe that a whole month has passed! We have been having so much fun in Preschool I, playing and learning!
Our Tools of the Mind theme for this month, is family. We have been busy transforming our classroom into different parts of a house! Our art center has been used to make different props, our block center has transformed into a garage, our literacy center is the nursery, the table toy area is the living room, the kitchen has stayed the kitchen area, and the science center is being used as a laundry room!
This month for literacy, we will be review uppercase letters! We have been working on pre-reading skills by working on our Tools of the Mind activity; buddy reading! For our pre-writing practice, we have been making “dots” for our graphics practice.
This month for math, we will be working on recognizing numbers 1-5, sorting shapes, colors, and items, and reviewing our shapes and colors. Last month, I introduced our Tools of the Mind activity, remember and replicate. We worked on making a “ball” with play dough! This month, we are going to make “pancakes” and “snakes!”
Science and Social Studies
This month for science and social studies, we will be learning all about fall! Pumpkins, scarecrows, and Halloween, oh my! Last month, we began our fall theme by exploring apples! We also release our monarch butterflies that we helped raise!
Every afternoon we will be going to our special classes: Monday: Tumbles, Tuesday: Music, Wednesday: Acting, Thursday: Tumbles, and Friday: Music.
