Welcome to the New Year! I am so excited to see what 2019 will bring!
Our Tools of the Mind theme for this month is, hospital. We are going to begin to transform each of our learning centers into different parts of a hospital; an emergency room, a nursery, and a pharmacy!
This month, we are going to continue to work on name recognition, familiarizing ourselves with uppercase letters, and strengthening our pre-reading skills. For our Tools of the Mind activities, we will continue to work on pre-reading through Buddy Reading, continuing to work on level 3 for Graphics Practice (making circles; “around and close”), and playing our letter hopscotch game!
This month, we are going to continue to work on recognizing numbers 0-5, one-to-one correspondence, and our sorting skills. For our Tools of Mind activities, we will play our Remember and Replicate game (making “balls,” “panakes,” and “snakes” with playdough), and making different collections.
Science and Social Studies
This month, we are going to begin our fun winter theme! We are going to learn all about snow, ice, hibernation, and polar animals! We also will discuss Martin Luther King Jr.!
Each afternoon we will be going to our special classes; Tumbles, Acting, and Music!
